August 2026
Preparations, a new laptop for the company, and the wall-art project growing up.
Getting ready. This was the month it got real. A 4-hour first-aid course for babies and adults, then a 6+ hour group course on a Saturday.
Just for fun, we started looking at houses. Saw one on the industrial side of town and it was exaggerated. That search didn't last long.
Mary's name day. Woke up at 6, bought flowers, wrote her a letter, then brunch at Marty.
Put real money into the company. Sold some of my BET stocks ($4k) to fund it, ordered a new laptop for the business, and deposited funds in the business account to cover the next year. Hopefully I can build something out of these funds. Picked up the laptop on the 17th, set up the workstation, moved my Claude skills over from the old Mac, and made iTerm my new friend.
The wall-art project got serious. Another payment came in on the 18th, and that's when I decided I should really build this app into something I'm proud of. Not just a hack. Most side hours after that went into it: email sequences, improvements on the free tool page, new pricing. On the 26th, the first customer at the new $29 price.
The rest of the side work: finished the documentation for the property-management integration, got close to a full pipeline for the real-estate photos, did some testing, and some customer support on hotelanvelope.ro. Even did some side work from the gym, on Claude mobile.
Physio. Started kinetotherapy and physiotherapy, two to three sessions a week through the rest of the month, sometimes by bike. Also put a Dexcom glucose monitor in my arm for 10 days to see how my body reacts to food. And a note to self: don't drink a second coffee.
Not every day was easy. Some days were "all kinds of things, trying to stay positive." Family stuff I won't write about here. A Friday with 10+ hours of "9-5 work". A Saturday with no drive to do anything after the course.
Friends: coffee with Alin by bike, Sanyi's birthday with him and Beatrice, a walk with Bogdi, dinner with Matei and Simona, and a late Big Mac with Ema.
Health: 11 gym sessions (2 at home), four runs including 4k in the heat, sauna and cold showers, and 8 physio sessions.
By the Numbers
- $4k of stocks sold to fund the company
- 1 first customer at $29
- 11 gym sessions
- 4 runs (~22km total)
- 8 physio sessions
- 10 days with a glucose monitor
- 5 meetups with friends
- 1 cancelled trip
You completed my summer, August 2026.
